Why Board and Train is Effective for Your Dog
Immersive training gives dogs a structured environment where they can focus on obedience, recall, and manners with a professional trainer. When a dog boards with a trainer, the program provides consistent practice with commands, distractions, and everyday skills that help build stronger responses and better control.

IMMERSIVE LEARNING
Board and train gives dogs daily structure and focused training time, helping them learn obedience skills faster through consistent practice.

CONSISTENT STRUCTURE
Dogs follow clear routines for commands, manners, leash walking, and boundaries, which helps reduce confusion and build better behavior.

REAL-WORLD PRACTICE
Training can be practiced around distractions, new environments, and everyday situations so dogs learn to listen outside the home.

BETTER FOCUS
A structured program helps dogs improve attention, impulse control, and response to commands, even when distractions are present.

OWNER SUPPORT
After training, owners receive guidance on how to maintain progress at home and continue reinforcing the dog’s new skills.
Our Board and Train Programs
Board and Train for Everyday Obedience
Off Leash K9 Training Winston-Salem offers 1 Week and 2 Week board and train options designed for family dogs needing obedience training. These programs focus on essential commands and manners for household management, including door manners, greeting manners, and meal manners. The training helps dogs become reliable canine companions that fit well into daily family life.
Whether working with a young dog ready for structured obedience or an adult dog needing stronger reliability, the immersive format allows trainers to build practical skills while focusing on commands, manners, and recall. Programs vary by distraction level, environment, and specific skills, such as off-leash reliability or control in busier public settings.
Urban and High-Distraction Environments
For dogs living in busy metropolitan areas or frequently exposed to high-distraction environments, the specialized Urban K9 program provides focused training around challenging situations. This includes practice in highly populated areas, busy events, airports, shopping centers, and similar locations where maintaining control is essential.
Advanced distraction training helps dogs respond more reliably around crowds, noise, and unpredictable activity. This level of training is particularly valuable for dog owners who live in or near busy metropolitan areas and want stronger control when their dogs are exposed to high-level distractions.

Our Board and Train Process

Step 1: Initial Assessment
Before choosing a program, owners can discuss their dog’s behavior, training goals, and daily challenges with Off Leash K9 Training Winston-Salem. This helps determine which board and train option may be the best fit based on the dog’s needs, the owner’s goals, and the level of distraction training required. This conversation helps owners understand which program may fit their dog’s age, current obedience level, training goals, and the types of distractions they want their dog to handle more reliably.

Step 2: Immersive Training Period
During the 1-2 week training period, your dog stays with a professional trainer and works through a structured obedience program. Dogs may practice commands such as sit, place, recall, down, off, and heeling, depending on the selected program. Training also includes manners and practice around the appropriate level of distractions. Training includes greeting manners, door manners, and meal manners to address common household challenges. Immersive training gives dogs structured practice with commands, manners, and distractions so owners have clearer tools to maintain obedience after the program is complete.

Step 3: Owner Education Session
After training completion, owners receive a comprehensive education session. The 1 Week program includes a 1.5-hour session, while both 2 Week programs include a 2-hour session. During this time, trainers demonstrate exactly what your dog has learned and teach you how to maintain training results. The Community K9 and Urban K9 2 Week Board & Train programs include free refresher training for life. This gives owners ongoing support after completion and helps them continue reinforcing their dog’s obedience over time. Owner consistency at home remains important for maintaining long-term results.

One of our doggies gave him a challenge but he took care of her with love and care just as of she was her own. It was wonderful to see with the daily videos and photos! He made our dogs better and more enjoyable and that is a true gift !! They can both be off leash with great recall. ( which we did not know was possible) Our drop off and turn over couldnt of showed us more of how much he cared for our dogs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! THANK YOU OFF LEASH K9 AND DAVE!

10000/10 recommend. Such a great experience working with Ara!! We have a very stubborn male husky who wouldn’t listen to a single command outdoors and tried to make a run to the nearest human/dog when off leash. After the 2 week board and train he’s now 100% obedient and 100% off leash. She was great about giving descriptive updates and great photos/videos of him. You can tell by his posture that he was comfortable and happy with her at all times, she definitely made him feel like he was a part of her pack. Thank you Ara!
