Professional Dog Training Services in Greensboro, NC
Expert Dog Training and Behavior Modification Services
Dog training in Greensboro, NC can help your dog build reliable obedience, better manners, and safer behavior around real-world distractions. Off Leash K9 Training Winston-Salem offers structured dog training programs for dogs of many breeds, sizes, ages, and training backgrounds, with services available from its Kernersville facility for dog owners in the Greensboro area.
The training focus is practical: come when called, sit with duration, place with duration, loose leash walking, heel, off, out, break as a release command, greeting manners, door manners, meal manners, and recall around distractions. For dogs working toward off-leash reliability, proper and thorough training starts with a strong foundation in basic obedience commands so the dog can respond reliably without a leash.
Why Professional Dog Training is Essential for Your Dog
Training improves obedience, safety, confidence, and communication between dogs and owners.

Off-leash reliability
Off-leash training builds recall, focus, and obedience around real-world distractions.

Behavior modification
Behavior training identifies triggers and teaches calmer responses through consistent structure.

Stronger bond
Regular training builds trust, improves communication, and strengthens your bond with your dog.

Safety and control
Reliable commands help dogs stay safer and easier to manage in distracting situations.

Professional guidance
A trainer helps choose the right program, tools, and structure for your dog’s goals.
At-home practice matters too. Training sessions should be brief and frequent to keep learning fun for dogs. Short practice sessions of 10 to 15 minutes can help prevent burnout while reinforcing desired goals during the maintenance phase.

Our Dog Training Process

Step 1: Program Assessment
The process begins by reviewing the dog’s age, behavior, training history, and goals to determine whether basic obedience, board and train, puppy training, therapy dog preparation, or aggressive dog training is the best fit.

Step 2: Customized Training Plan
A customized plan focuses on the right commands, environments, and behavior goals for the dog, starting in low-distraction settings before building toward more reliable obedience around distractions.

Step 3: Professional Training Implementation
Experienced trainers work with the dog using the selected program’s methods and tools, including e-collar training when applicable, to build obedience, manners, focus, and reliability in appropriate environments.

Step 4: Owner Education and Transfer
Owners receive guidance on handling, follow-through, and daily practice so they can maintain the dog’s training, reinforce good behavior, and support long-term success at home.

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with the 2 week board and train for our one year old mini schnauzer Willard with Offleash K9!!!!!
From our first interactions with the office personnel Tamera, who answered all my questions and concerns, to getting daily updates from Rick our trainer, we did not have any worries about our pup being in the best hands. Willard’s recall and leash manners have improved night and day. My husband and I appreciate all the support at the turnover appointment that we will be able to maintain and continue all the skills our has dog learned. Willard was a good boy before our board and train, not having any major issues, we just wanted to dial in his recall, heel and overall confidence. We could not be more grateful with the results. He is the bestest boy and we so grateful! ”

“Dave at Off Leash K9 has totally changed our pup for the better!! She was a super reactive puppy when she first started her basic obedience training and over the course of 8 weeks she has improved immensely since training with Dave. I will say it’s important to remember that the dog is not the only one getting trained but you are in this process as well. So that first week may seem impossible, but week 2 I returned and told Dave all my concerns how Maple was reacting and he reassured me to trust the process and I am sooooo glad I did!! My dog Maple was the worse at pulling while on walks and now she heel walks beside me like a rockstar! I would recommend any friend or stranger to go to Off leash for their puppy or any age dog training because they are amazing people and take care of you and your pup. 10/10 experience and the next puppy we get were brining right to Dave!! ”
