Does every program use an e-collar?
No. Basic Marker Mastery™ uses reward-based marker training with a clicker, slip lead, and 15-foot leash. The published private obedience and Board & Train programs include an e-collar.
Which Board & Train program should I choose?
The one-week program has a narrower obedience curriculum. Community K9 addresses mid-level distractions and includes off-leash heeling and down from a distance. Urban K9 addresses higher-level distractions, uses on-leash heeling, and does not include down from a distance.
Can an aggressive or reactive dog complete Board & Train?
Complete correction of major aggression concerns cannot be guaranteed during a two-week Board & Train. An eight-lesson private program is published specifically for dog aggression or reactivity around other dogs. Disclose the dog’s complete behavioral and bite history before enrolling.
What support is included after Board & Train?
The One-Week Board & Train includes a 1.5-hour owner session and lifetime refresher support. Community K9 and Urban K9 include a two-hour owner session and free lifetime refresher support. Owners must continue maintaining the training at home.
