Why Professional Dog Obedience Training is Essential for Your Dog
Professional dog training gives owners the tools and guidance needed to build lasting obedience and strengthen the bond between dog and family.

Off-Leash Reliability
Dogs learn to respond to commands without the need for a leash, allowing greater freedom during walks, at parks, and in daily life.

Improved Dog Behavior
Training addresses common issues like jumping, poor recall, and lack of focus around distractions.

Stronger Bond
Consistency and positive reinforcement build trust and understanding between the dog and owner.

Safety in All Environments
A well trained dog responds reliably around doors, during greetings, at meal times, and in public spaces.

Reduced Stress
Both owners and dogs experience less frustration when communication is clear and expectations are understood.
Training results last when owners continue reinforcing commands at home. Professional guidance ensures proper use of important commands and training tools, setting both dog and owner up for long-term success.
Our Dog Training Programs
Board & Train Programs
Board and train programs provide immersive training where your dog boards with a professional trainer for one or two weeks. This approach allows for intensive, structured training in a controlled environment with real-world distractions.
1 Week Board & Train focuses on obedience fundamentals including full off-leash recall, place and extended place, sit and extended sit, and recall in multiple distractions and environments. Dogs also learn greeting manners, door manners, and meal manners. The program includes an e-collar and a 1.5-hour one-on-one owner session after completion.
Community K9 2 Week Board & Train is designed for mid-level distractions commonly encountered in daily life. Dogs are exposed to environments like parks, baseball games, trails, various neighborhoods, and big box stores. Commands include sit with duration, place and extended place, off-leash heeling, down with duration, down from distance, off, and full off-leash recall. This program includes an e-collar, a 2-hour one-on-one owner session, and free refresher for life.
Urban K9 2 Week Board & Train prepares dogs for high-level distractions found in busy metropolitan areas. Training environments may include busy events, airports, shopping centers, and train stations. Commands include sit and extended sit, place and extended place, on-leash heeling, down and duration down, off, and full off-leash recall. This program also includes an e-collar, a 2-hour one-on-one owner session, and free refresher for life.
The key difference between Community K9 and Urban K9 is the distraction level and heel command. Community K9 includes mid-level distractions, off-leash heel, and down from distance. Urban K9 includes high-level distractions, on-leash heel, and does not include down from distance.
Private Lesson Programs
Private lessons allow owners to learn alongside their dog through weekly sessions with a professional dog trainer.
Basic Obedience Training is a 4-week program with four private 1-hour lessons, one lesson per week. Commands include come, sit, extended sit, down, extended down, place, extended place, out, loose leash walking, off, and break as the release command. The program includes an e-collar and training leash.
Basic & Advanced Obedience includes 8 private lessons. The first four lessons cover basic obedience commands. The final four lessons introduce advanced obedience skills including extended distance obedience, heel, watch, through, front, stand, and other commands. This program includes an e-collar and training leash.
Individual Advanced Lessons are available after completing the Basic & Advanced Obedience package. These 1-hour lessons cover advanced commands like extended distance obedience, heel, watch, through, stand, front, focused heeling, and touch.
Therapy Dog Preparation includes 8 private lessons designed to prepare the dog and owner for therapy dog testing and certification. This program helps owners work toward the skills and readiness needed for therapy dog evaluation, with successful completion allowing the dog to be evaluated and certified by a testing organization.

Our Dog Training Process

Step 1: Initial Assessment
The process begins with a free phone consultation to discuss your dog’s current behavior, age, and training goals. Common concerns may include leash pulling, poor recall, jumping, lack of focus around distractions, greeting manners, door manners, or puppy training needs. This conversation helps determine which program may be the right fit.

Step 2: Program Selection
Based on your dog’s age, behavior concerns, training goals, and preferred training format, the team can help recommend a program that may fit your situation. Factors may include whether you prefer an immersive board and train program or weekly private lessons where you learn alongside your dog.

Step 3: Professional Training
Board and train programs provide immersive training where your dog boards with a professional trainer and is exposed to real distractions and environments. Commands are reinforced through structured practice, e-collar training, and consistent handling so the dog can build reliable obedience in everyday situations. Private lessons bring owner and dog together in weekly sessions, gradually building obedience, communication, and control. One-on-one training also allows owners to learn the commands, tools, and handling techniques needed to reinforce progress between lessons.

Step 4: Owner Education
All board and train programs include owner sessions. The 1 Week Board & Train includes a 1.5-hour one-on-one session. The 2 Week Board & Train programs include a 2-hour one-on-one owner session. These sessions teach you what your dog learned and how to properly handle, correct, and maintain behaviors at home. Private lessons include owner instruction in real time. You share responsibility for progress and learn to apply commands effectively. Lasting results depend on consistency, reinforcement, and gradual exposure to distractions.
